Men’s Jeans

I’m 44 years old and a former athlete. I buy clothing that’s classic in style. I don’t like fads. I like simple high quality clothing that fits well and is comfortable. If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place. See the pics below for my recommendation from Banana Republic. This is a bootcut jean. It’s not skinny. The color is subtle. There aren’t any ridiculous patterns on the back pockets. This is what jeans are supposed to look like.

Men’s Button Down Shirts

Well, if we agreed upon the jeans above… let’s talk about shirts next. For me, there was a time and place when I needed a cotton button down shirt which I tucked into my jeans. If the occasion requires it, see my recommendation farther down the page. If it’s a more casual look you require, it doesn’t get any better than Untuckit.

For those times when you need to look a bit more polished, my go-to recommendation is Brooks Brothers.

Men’s Sweaters

When the weather starts to turn cool, we recommend J.Crew’s half-zip sweater. It goes great over a tee-shirt, polo or button down.

Men’s T-shirts

I don’t know about you but I can’t get enough T-shirts. My favorite t-shirt of all time is from J.Crew. It’s a classic pocket t-shirt. The material is fantastic. It feels broken-in. There’s no tag to irritate your neck, and they fit great. The neck is just the right size, and the cut is perfectly suited to your frame based on your selection of classic, slim or tall fits.

Did I mention I love T-shirts? You have to have the long sleeve version as well to cover all your bases. This one lacks the pocket (come-on J.Crew!) but it’s still great.

Men’s Gloves

It took me a long time but I finally found a pair of gloves I can wear without looking like I’m going skiing. These gloves from Carhartt are incredibly versatile. I can wear them with fleeces, softshell and down jackets. They are easy to get on and off when you’re active and aren’t too bulky.
